Thanks to
an abundance of wide open space and its country park settings,
the Mackintosh Centre can offer groups a complete range of leisure,
sports, arts and conservation activities, for all ages and all
abilities. A charge may be made for some activities details
of which are available on request.

- How about
practical
conservation work, try your hand at building bird boxes or
bird feeders with our staff.
- Our Countryside
Activity Pack is a resource pack for group leaders with simple
activities that will enable you to deliver a wide range of
environmental activities.
Leisure,
Sports and Arts
- Walks
and Trails
There are three circular walks around Brixworth Country Park.
The shortest takes you past the bird watching hide and the mini
labyrinth. The longest takes you through the parks sculpture
trail and by the edge of the picturesque Pitsford Water a site
of special scientific interest. Bikes and electric buggies can
be hired for these trails.
- Sports
Pursuits
Football, rounders, badminton, French boules, volleyball and
juggling equipment can be hired.
- Orienteering
A static orienteering course which doesn't require a compass,
ideal for introducing orienteering for the first time. Or mega orienteering which will test both your orienteering and problem solving skills.
- Art
Boxes
If you are feeling creative how about a bit of glass painting
encaustic art, candle making or mask making
- Evenings
under Canvass
Try a night under canvass. Tents, lanterns, mattresses and sleeping
bags can be hired from the Mackintosh Centre.
- Sailing,
Windsurfing and Canoeing
A range of sailing dinghies, canoes, windsurfing boards and
boats are available along with qualified instructors. Local
group Sailability run sailing sessions and organised trips for
people with disabilities.
- Fishing
First-class trout fly fishing is available with tuition from
the local fishing lodge.
- Horse
Riding
Horse riding sessions can be arranged from the local stables
even for beginners.
